Approved EFA Vendor · ClassWallet

Spend Arkansas EFA funds on Spelling Stream Pro

Spelling Stream is an approved vendor for the Arkansas Education Freedom Account program, so your student’s EFA can pay for a Pro license for the school year through ClassWallet without anything going on your card.

What being an approved vendor means

Spelling Stream is published by Monthly Balance Capital LLC, which the Arkansas Department of Education has approved as a vendor for the Arkansas Children’s Educational Freedom Account Program. You pay us from your student’s EFA by submitting a Direct Pay request in ClassWallet with our invoice, and the funds come to us once the Department approves it. You never pay out of pocket.

When ClassWallet asks for an expense category, the one that describes this purchase is Educational Software and Apps, which the program counts as a core educational expense.

What it does not mean. Approval makes us a vendor your EFA can pay. It is not a review of the curriculum: the Arkansas Department of Education has not endorsed, reviewed or recommended the app itself, and we do not claim it has. Choosing a vendor is your decision as the parent.

What your ESA funds buy

A license for Spelling Stream Pro to the end of the school year, covering every child profile on your family’s devices. Spelling Stream turns the spelling list your child already brings home into practice, tests and games, read aloud in a voice you choose.

Their actual school list

Type the words, dictate them, or photograph the list the teacher sent home. Your child practices the words they will be tested on.

Read in your own voice

Record each word yourself, free and unlimited on every plan. Pro adds Enhanced Voice for the words you did not get to, with homophones used in a sentence.

Practice that adapts

Focus Words puts the words your child keeps missing first, and Letter Distractors draws wrong letters from spellings children really write.

Up to 100 lists

Fifty words each, so a full term of school lists lives in the app at once, with a separate profile and progress record per child.

Every device in the house

One license across iPhone, iPad and Android. A child’s tablet with no account of its own joins with an activation code.

No ads, works offline

No advertising of any kind, no social features, and the whole app works with no connection once a list is in.

What it costs

US$1.99 a month for each month left in the school year, counting the current one, through June. Bought in September, that is 10 months and US$19.90; bought in July, the full school year, 12 months and US$23.88.

No processing fee is added. The total on your invoice is the license price, and it is the exact amount to request in ClassWallet: the Department rejects a request that does not match the invoice, or that is more than your account holds when you submit it. EFA funds arrive quarterly, and last year the first deposit came in August, so a July order needs funds left over from the year before.

Want a full year instead? Subscribe in the app for US$19.99 a year through the App Store or Google Play. That is an ordinary store subscription: it renews automatically, is paid by card, and comes with no EFA invoice.

The license runs to June 30, the last day of the EFA school year, which the program rules set as July 1 through June 30. It is a single charge, not an auto-renewing subscription: when the new year opens on July 1, place a new order with the new year’s funds.

Invoices for program funds close on May 15, because the Department’s review can run four weeks or more and a later one could be approved after the year ends. Nothing is sold, by card or invoice, in the year’s final month; new licenses go on sale when the new year opens.

EFA funds are awarded per child, so place one order for each student. Each order gets its own invoice naming that student.

How long it takes

The Arkansas Department of Education aims to review Direct Pay requests within two weeks, and says it can take four weeks or more when volume is high. Once a request is approved, ClassWallet pays us within 2 to 10 business days and we email your activation link.

Need Pro sooner? Pay by card and have it tonight, then file a reimbursement request (see below).

How to order

  1. Open your invoice and enter your student’s full name. It prints on the invoice and on the paid invoice that follows.
  2. Submit a Direct Pay request in ClassWallet under that student’s account, pick Spelling Stream, enter the total from the invoice and upload it.
  3. The Department reviews and approves it, and the funds come to us.
  4. We email your activation link. Open it on the device your child uses, or type the eight-digit code into the app. Pro stays on until June 30.

Get your invoice

Your invoice carries what the EFA program asks for. It shows our vendor name, your student’s name, the invoice date, the service dates, a line-item description of the license with its cost, and the total due. It is marked payment due, not yet received, because that is what it is at the point you upload it.
Paying by card instead. You can pay by card and have Pro tonight, then submit a reimbursement request in ClassWallet with the itemized invoice we email you. The Department decides whether to approve it, so check before you choose this route: a declined request is not grounds for a refund. Pay by card.

Vendor details

Spelling Stream is published by Monthly Balance Capital LLC, a United States company. For anything to do with an order, an invoice or an activation code, write to support@monthlybalance.com with your order number. We cannot advise on whether a purchase qualifies under the EFA program — that is between you and the Department. If a program-funds payment ever has to be refunded, it goes back to your student’s EFA, as the program requires, not to you.
