Letter Distractors picks the wrong letters in the games where your child chooses letters from a set. With it, the wrong ones are the letters children tend to write in that spot instead of random letters. It’s part of Spelling Stream Pro, it runs on its own, and there’s nothing to set.
What it looks like
Your child is spelling “laugh” and is on the gh. The letters on offer:
- g
- f
- w
- o
Every wrong letter on offer is one a child could believably write in that spot.
None of them can be ruled out on sight, so the only way to the g is knowing how “laugh” is spelled.
What the free plan does
Every game is free and every game uses your child’s own list. Without Pro, the letter-picking games choose their wrong letters at random. Pro changes only what those wrong letters are made of.

The remaining games don’t offer a child a set of wrong letters to choose from, so there is nothing for this to improve in them.
Why it matters
A child who can rule out the wrong answers on sight never has to think about the spelling. When the alternatives are believable, the only route to the right letter is knowing the word. Longer words with trickier spellings show the difference most.
What it doesn’t change
- Scores. A right answer is right whether the wrong letters were realistic or random.
- Difficulty settings. Each game keeps its own. There’s no extra mode and no penalty.
- Your list. Same words, same order rules.
