- Why math? The Parent Center's math question has a small "Why math?" link in the corner. It explains why there is a grown-ups-only check, and shows how to swap the math for a PIN, plus Face ID or fingerprint, under Security.
- Your device's own words. The app names the unlock your phone or tablet actually has: Face ID or Touch ID on iPhone and iPad, fingerprint or face unlock on Android.
- Cloud Sync tells you when it needs you. If sync is waiting on a decision from you, the Cloud Sync tile in the Parent Center carries a red dot and says so.
- Delete Account confirms it's you first. You are asked to sign in again before anything is removed.

See and Disconnect Your Devices
- See your connected devices. Cloud Sync has a new Connected Devices screen listing every device set up with an activation code, with the one in your hand marked so you always know which is which.
- Disconnect a device yourself. Remove a device from your phone, or sign the device you are holding out from its own screen. Each one confirms what will happen before anything changes, and its spelling lists, stars and stickers stay on it.
- Know what one subscription covers. The Connected Devices screen now says how many devices an activation code can set up, so you are not finding out at the moment you run out.
- Set up the next device without hunting for the screen. Activate Another Device links straight to your device list, so you can check what is already connected before you generate a code.
- A pause you can see. The written test's timer mode now dims the screen and shows a Resume button when you pause, instead of leaving you guessing whether it took.
- One box for your activation code. The code field was rebuilt so a code reads back as you type it, and a wrong code says so in plain words instead of a technical message.
- Switch kids from the Parent Center. Tapping Switch Profile at the top of the Parent Center now opens a picker right there — tap a kid to switch, tap off to close. The button is hidden when there is only one profile to switch to.

Connect a Second Device with a Code
- Activation codes for a second device. On a device that already has Pro, Parent Center now shows an eight-digit code. Type it on another phone or tablet and that device joins your account, gets your lists, and turns Pro on. A code lasts five minutes and connects one device, and viewing or generating one asks for your parent PIN first.
- Adding another way to sign in. Add Apple to an account you already use with Google, or the other way round, from the Cloud Sync screen. It shows every method on the account and the address each one opens.
- Cloud Sync Status. A section on the Cloud Sync screen showing when this device last synced, a Sync Now control, and a plain description of anything that went wrong.
- Feedback by topic. The feedback form asks what your message is about instead of asking you to rate us, and it reaches us straight away.
- Signing out of Cloud Sync no longer removes this device's lists, stars or stickers. They stay on the device and sync again when you sign back in.
- Renamed "Activate Device" to "Activate This Device", so it no longer reads as a second spelling of "Activate Another Device" sitting beside it. Its subtext now says what the screen asks for: "Enter Activation Code".
- The Activate This Device screen has a help page, like the other Parent Center screens, and its text is the same size as the rest of the portal instead of noticeably smaller.
- The Cloud Sync sign-in notice says that one account can hold more than one way to sign in, so choosing Google or Apple is not a decision a parent is stuck with.
- Text across the Parent Center is larger. The shared rows, labels and buttons had drifted below the size the rest of the portal uses, and the Cloud Sync screens were the worst of it.
- The Cloud Sync, sign-in and activation screens were rewritten in plainer language throughout, and the sign-in page now looks like the rest of the Parent Center instead of a page borrowed from somewhere else.

Setting up the app now hands you the real word list, so you can type, say, scan and record your child's words before you ever finish setup.
- The word list step is the real screen now. While you set the app up you get the same word list you will use afterwards: type a word, say it, scan it from a photo, record how it should sound, fix a typo, or delete it. Setup used to have a cut-down version that could do almost none of that.
- Record a word while you set up. Tap the mic beside any word and say it the way you want your child to hear it. Anything you record before the list is saved is kept and attached to the list once it is.
- Scanning a printed list during setup now opens the full photo import: choose your settings, take the picture, drag a box around just the words, and correct anything it misread before it is added. The version in setup had no crop and no way to fix a wrong word.
- Hear the reading voice before you hand the device over. The last setup screen reads one of your own words aloud, so you know what your child will hear, and offers the one-tap fix when your device's voice is a poor one.
- A voice check for the devices that need one. If your device's reading voice is a low-quality one, setup adds a screen explaining both ways a word gets read out — the device voice, and your own recordings — and where each one lives.
- Setup stays upright on a phone, so a step never ends up with its button below the bottom of the screen. Tablets are unchanged.
- More room for the word list while you edit. On a phone, opening a word for editing tucks away the "Type a word" card and the hidden-words note so the list has the screen to itself. Both come back when you save, cancel, or tap away.
- No upgrade offer in the middle of setup. Going past the free ten words no longer interrupts you with a purchase screen. The words beyond ten are still marked, per word, as hidden from your child.
- Plainer buttons for adding a word. The three ways to add a word lost their second line of explanation, on the edit screen and in setup — the icon and the label already said it.

A new way to scan a word list, and fixes for typing on the parent screens.
- Scanning a word list from a photo. Before you take the picture you can say whether to keep capital letters and whether each word sits on its own line. Then you drag a box around just the words, so the title, the name line and the instructions are left out. You see every word it found and can redo the photo before anything is added.
- When a photo reads badly. If whole lines come in as single words, the app says so and offers to split them up without you retaking the photo. It also warns you if the picture is too small to read well.
- Help on every step of a photo import, and each word it finds can be fixed or skipped before anything is added to the list.
- A bigger keyboard. The keys are taller with more room between them, closer to the size of the keyboard your phone already uses.
- The apostrophe and hyphen now sit behind "More" on your child's keyboard. Most words need neither, and the row they used to take up is better spent on the keys they do use. Tap More to bring them back. On your own keyboard they are where they were.
- Fixing a typo in a name. Tap anywhere in a child's name to put the cursor there. Before, the cursor always sat at the end, so a typo near the front meant deleting the whole name and starting over.
- Assigning a list you just made. Leave a new list without giving it to a child and you'll be asked once whether you want to. Say yes and the list of children opens right there.

- A question mark on every Parent Center screen. Tap it and a short card explains what the screen is for and what each button does. The list screens show it once by themselves the first time you open them.
- Finding your own voice recordings. Voice Settings now says plainly that recordings live on your word list, shows you the button to look for, and takes you there in one tap. The mic beside each word says "Tap to record" instead of "No audio".
- Space Pulse is calmer. The visitor on the console turns up less often, the static under it is quieter, and tapping the screen sends it away.
- Promo codes on Android. Redeem a Code now walks you through where Google asks for the code and takes you to the right screen, so a code from us actually works.

Practice that leads with the words they miss
- Space Pulse — a brand-new game where spelling flies you through space. Every letter your child gets right fires a beam from the ship's console and plays the next note of a familiar tune, so a finished word is a finished phrase of music. Best enjoyed with sound on.
- Asteroid fields in Space Pulse — every few words the spelling pauses and rocks drift in from the distance. Tap one and the ship's deflector pushes it away. Missing costs nothing, there is no timer and no score, and a "Keep spelling" button leaves the field whenever your child would rather get on with the words.
- Easy, medium and hard in Missing Letter — choose whether one, two or three letters go missing from each word.
- Smarter wrong answers in Letter Catch, Snake, Connect and Space Pulse — the decoy letters are now the ones children genuinely mix up rather than random ones. A word like "laugh" offers the f, w, and o that make "lawf" tempting, so your child has to think about the spelling instead of picking the only letter that looks plausible.
- Space Pulse instructions now cover the asteroid fields and say what finishing the list gets you, using the game's own artwork.
- Game instruction cards use the full width of the screen on a phone held sideways. The rows used to squeeze into half the space and the last one could fall off the bottom.
